Welcome to Mid-Michigan’s
Premier Canine Rescue!
Bruised But Not Broken Canine Rescue is a non-profit based organization located in Grand Blanc MI. We work primarily from out home and a small network of foster families. Our focus is Bully breed dogs such as pitbulls and rottweilers. While there are many who deal with theses breeds, they are selective about the dogs they deal with. We take the dogs no one else wants. We rehabilitate fighting dogs, bait dogs, dogs with anxiety as well as dogs with heartworm.
Because we are so small, we work full time jobs to offset the costs of rescuing and working with these dogs. We dont do it for the money, we do it for the love and our passion speaks through our dedicated actions in the community. We rely on donations from the public, and whatever is not covered comes from our own pocket.
We also do advocacy for bully breeds, including educating about responsible ownership and what it means to have a family pet. About half of the calls we get for people wanting to surrender their dogs, do not really want to get rid of them, but have reached some sort of behavioral issue or complication with their dog that creates stress in the home. We reach out to those families, at no cost to them, and teach them what we know in order to try and keep their pet. Often after a few sessions with the family, they get a quality understanding of what they need to do, and the dog remains in the home. We also give them a crate if they need one. Sometimes the problem is as simple as the dog gets in the trash when we are not home. This is an easy fix=crate the dog to protect it and your home when you can’t keep an eye on them.
Bruised But Not Broken has become an important part of the community and our reputation is rock solid. We have experience with these dogs, and seek to educate the public about the positive qualities these dogs possess such as unconditional love, loyalty and agility.
